Welcome to the Rocks and Fruit Wine Blog!

I am very excited to launch this blog about wine. I have always wanted to spew my thoughts on the internet in a diarrhea of the mouth type of way. Rocks and fruit are perhaps the two most important things I look for a wine..IN THAT ORDER. Rocks which is wine-slang-speak for minerality is what makes wine unique methinks. The fact that you can taste the slate in a Mosel Riesling or the gneiss in Loire Muscadet is a pretty fascinating thing. Compared to other beverages wine is insanely transparent in that when made in a respectful manner it can reflect the site it came from. The French have a term for it called "terroir." Particularly tasting the rocks, gravel, dirt, sous-bois with some complimentary fruit is what its all about. This blog will focus on goings on in the wine world and will accentuate wines that I like and think are unique, interesting and have something to offer the drinker! That is the most important thing here. You will not see blog posts on how great the latest CA cult wine is or what new reverse osmosis machine was purchased by Chateau Giscours. The common thread will be discussing wines that have soul and challenge the drinker. Meditation wines. Transparent wines. Wines that you should give a damn about. This blog will transpire in an organic way. No true format here.....just ramblings which I suppose is what every blog is about anyway. Well I finally have a voice! And now it will roar.
